The company was founded in 1980 by Joseph A. Bozzuto as Connecticut Metals, Inc. (CMI), headquartered in Waterbury, Connecticut. CMI has served the electronic and related industries for over 30 years.
During the product development years, Mr. Dal Y. Ingersoll, Technical Director and partner was instrumental in supporting and guiding the development and quality control of the CMI Specialty product line. Mr. Ingersoll held several patents in Titanium Production, Metallurgy and Powder Metallurgy.
Our core products, CMI-B precision cold rolled strip and CMI-C cold drawn round bar are widely used in most magnetic control devices such as direct current Relays, Solenoids, Switches, Synchronous motors, Stepper motors in most Automotive, Aerospace, Military and Industrial markets.
